Desktop encoder setup

Stream from Streamlabs Desktop

Streamlabs Desktop is built on OBS, so it speaks the same RTMP. Choose the “Custom Streaming Server” option, drop in your ingest URL and key, and you are ready to relay.

Beginner Windows macOS
In Streamlabs Desktop: Settings → Stream

Step by step

Follow these in Streamlabs Desktop — it takes about a minute.

Open Settings → Stream

Click the cog in the bottom-left, then choose Stream.

Select Custom Streaming Server

Set Stream Type to “Custom Streaming Server”.

Enter the URL

Paste your Stream Repeater RTMP server into the URL field.

Add the stream key

Paste your stream key from the stream page.

Go Live

Click Done, then Go Live. Every enabled destination starts relaying.

Your ingest details

Use these in the fields above. The exact values for your stream are on its page in the portal.

RTMP server rtmp://your-workspace.streamrepeater.com:1935
Stream key your-stream?user=your-stream&pass=sk_live_••••••••••••

Your stream key is unique and can be rotated at any time. A separate read-only playback key is provided for previews, so sharing a preview never exposes your publish credentials.

Pro tips for Streamlabs

Small tweaks that keep your relays clean and resilient.

  • Streamlabs overlays and alerts are applied to the single source — they relay to every destination automatically.
  • Set Output → Streaming to Advanced for full control over bitrate and keyframes.
  • Keep one encoder session: Stream Repeater fans your single output out to all platforms.
