Stream from vMix

vMix can push to a Custom RTMP Server, which is all Stream Repeater needs. Configure one of its three streaming slots with your ingest URL and key and switch your whole production to multiple platforms at once.

Choose Custom RTMP Server

Set Destination to “Custom RTMP Server”.

Enter the URL

Paste your Stream Repeater RTMP server into URL.

Add the stream key

Paste your stream key into Stream Name or Key.

Press Stream

Pick a Quality preset and click Stream to go live.

Your ingest details

Use these in the fields above. The exact values for your stream are on its page in the portal.

RTMP server rtmp://your-workspace.streamrepeater.com:1935
Stream key your-stream?user=your-stream&pass=sk_live_••••••••••••

Your stream key is unique and can be rotated at any time. A separate read-only playback key is provided for previews, so sharing a preview never exposes your publish credentials.

Pro tips for vMix

Small tweaks that keep your relays clean and resilient.

  • vMix has three independent streaming slots — but you only need one pointed at Stream Repeater, which handles the fan-out.
  • Match the Quality preset to your upload headroom; 6 Mbps at 1080p60 is a safe default.
  • Set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds under the Quality cog for platform compatibility.
